Our Story
Impetus
In 2014 we decided that we needed to build a different kind of track day. We were fed up with overcrowded events, with mediocre instruction, and with wasting a whole day at the track for an hour of seat time. Our solution was to drastically reduce the attendance numbers, hire overqualified pro-drivers to coach, and offer as much track time as possible.
Early Days
Our calendar consisted on 5-10 days a year at the tracks local to Boston. People loved the fresh take on track days. We amassed a following of likeminded people who strived to become better drivers. A “car club” formed not around a shared make/model, but around a shared mindset.
Destinations
Soon enough our coaches convinced us to forget our local tracks and book some events at the tracks we were watching IMSA/PWC race at. Easy enough. Our first dates would be a “season finale” at WGI in late 2016. We filled 3 semi trucks full of client’s cars, we chartered a private jet, and we arranged all the accommodations. These “destination events” grew our reach well beyond Boston. We were quickly hosting events all along the east coast and serving a national audience.
Testing
This one snuck up on us. From time to time we had pro-racing teams join us at the destination events to test. They needed high quality track time, but weren’t in a position to rent the track themselves. Our “testing events” came as the natural evolution their needs. The same low attendance, high track time, and hospitality focused format as our destinations, but this time tailored to the needs of race teams.
2022
(Work in Progress)
Our community is a strong as ever. We’re always excited to meet more likeminded people. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. 978-592-2739/Drive@ApexDrivingEvents.com
